Plyboo Kitchen Before & After

How about this for a stellar before and after kitchen (same wall in both shots)! Cabinetry is from Green Award Custom Woodworking in East Austin and they did a fantastic job. All fronts are Plyboo with pre-finished UV cured (read: no offgassing) interiors and low formaldehyde plywood casework. No particle board in the cabinets means they will stand up to years of use without fail. Did you see that cool end-grain bamboo cutting board that slides out? The coutertops are honed granite. We like the low shine look, but they aren’t the easiest keep that way. If you are an active kitchen user, honed granite might not be the best choice. The backsplash in also granite that we had our tile guys cut from in-expensive 12×12 granite tiles. They ran the 2″ strips vertically in a subway tile pattern. Cost effective and super cool looking. Flooring is slate and all the lighting is screw-in compact flourescent bulbs. A very cool and very green makeover for this tired kitchen complements of Risinger Homes. The clients love their new kitchen!
