Insulated Headers Using TimberStrand LSL Engineered Lumber

I’ve become a big fan of TimberStrand LSL Headers over the past few years.  These engineered lumber headers replace the typical sandwich of 2×10’s with 1/2″ plywood in between, and if you’re framing with 2×6’s it’s pretty easy to get an R-10 insulated header with TimberStrand.  In this video my carpenter Bill Wood and I are discussing the differences between these engineered headers and the typical dimensional lumber headers.
