I found a new category of housewrap this year at IBS that I’ve never seen before. I’m going to call this a “mini-Rainscreen” housewrap. TamlynWrap has a plastic bead embedded in their housewrap that will stand off your cladding and create a small gap. I also liked that they make all the accessories with Butyl based adhesives too. This looks like a very interesting new product. See more about this system on their website: http://www.tamlynwrap.com/tamlyn-water-management-system.html
If anyone reading this has used it before I’d love to know your opinions as to job site performance.
If you aren’t familiar with Tamlyn I’d also recommend you check their catalog of very extensive exterior trim’s & flashings for use with Fiber Cement.
Their main website is www.tamlyn.com
Lastly, if you aren’t a current subscriber to the Journal of Light Construction I highly recommend that magazine. I’ve got a $9.99/year offer for my blog followers on this link only! I’ve been reading JLC for about 15 years now and I’ve learned SO much over the years. It’s been invaluable in my education as a professional contractor. I’m now writing for them and I’ve had several articles published too. By subscribing you’ll have access to their online archives also. They helped sponsor my IBS trip this year and I’m grateful to their partnership in my blog (and their commitment to bettering our industry through education).
